Tottenham suffer their worst home defeat in 16 years... but at least Adebayor and Assou-Ekotto enjoyed the game!

Tottenham players Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Emmanuel Adebayor were in good spirits at White Hart Lane despite watching their side suffer their worst home defeat in 16 years. Andre Villas-Boas could do nothing as Spurs were hammered 5-0 by Liverpool but Queens Park Rangers loanee Assou-Ekotto and outcast striker Adebayor did not seem too disheartened by the result.

Minutes after the final whistle, Assou-Ekotto posted on his Twitter account a picture of the pair smiling, with the caption: 'What a game tonight....happy to see my man @E_Adebayor (LOL)'.

Luis Suarez took his tally to eight goals in three games and helped to set up the other three goals by Jordan Henderson, Jon Flanagan and Raheem Sterling on the day he captained Liverpool for the first time.
Assuming the armband from the injured Steven Gerrard indicated that Suarez has fully completed his rehabilitation from bans for racist abuse and biting, and antagonising fans by pushing for a transfer during the summer.
Suarez may well be relieved that Liverpool wouldn't sanction the move to Arsenal, with the London club now only a place and two points ahead at the top of the standings.
