The heat is on and the only way out is to beg ex-President Olusegun
Obasanjo not to make more revelations on what is going on in the
corridors of power so as to continue to keep Nigerians in the dark on
issues.
Consequently, President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday met, behind closed
doors, Chief Obasanjo in the Intercontinental Hotel in far away
Nairobi, Kenya. The meeting held less than 24 hours after an 18-page letter Obasanjo sent to Jonathan went public and is still generating a
lot of serious reactions.
Obasanjo had in the
letter accused Jonathan of condoning corruption and engaging in acts
that were capable of destroying the country.
Two of them were in Kenya for the country’s 50th independence
anniversary. Before the event, Obasanjo had made a surprise appearance
at Jonathan’s hotel on a day the media were awash with his
strong-worded letter titled “Before it is too late.”
Some of those who had insulted Obasanjo, including Reuben Abati,
were shocked to see the same Obasanjo and Jonathan having breakfast,
chatting and smiling.
