ASUU: NLC says it may declare solidarity strike, to meet Sambo today
The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has warned that it may soon
declare solidarity strike in support of the Academic Staff Union of
Universities (ASUU).
NLC President, Abdulwahed Omar, gave this hint on Wednesday in a communique issued at the end of a National Executive Council (NEC).
According to him, if all efforts at resolving the industrial crisis fails, the NLC would then be left with no choice than to join the strike.
He also disclosed that leadership of the Congress would be meeting with the Vice President, Namadi Sambo in Abuja Thursday over the ongoing face-off.
He said: “The organs of Congress have spoken and have directed the intervention of the Congress towards resolving the matter.
“This is why the leadership of Congress would be meeting with the
Vice President tomorrow (today) with ASUU so that we can find amicable
solution to the disagreement. We have not said we will not declare
sympathy strike if the need be.”
Omar further lamented the alleged non payment of entitlements of disengaged PHCN workers, saying, “we will resist this move because it is against the privatization law that stipulate the settlement of all labour matters before privatization of any public utility.”
He added that labour was in support of the probe of the Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah over the purchase of N255million armoured cars.

APGA Exposed: Willie Obiano Signs Secret Document…VIctor Umeh To Be Paid in Billions If Obiano Wins Anambra 2013 – 247UREPORTS
Revealed!
Nigeria is going to be treated to another round of Okija shrine saga, as witnessed in the days of Mr. Chris Ngige and Mr. Chris Uba during Ngige reign as Anambra governor. An agreement we can report has already been entered between the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Mr. Willie Obaino and the APGA National Chairman, in the event that he gets elected as the governor of the state.
The agreement [see below] copy of which was seen by elombah.com reveals that upon his election as the successor to Mr. Peter Obi, who has brazenly looted the state treasury, Obaino will pay the sum of One hundred and twenty million Naira monthly to Umeh while he will pay another whooping Thirty million Naira monthly to Umeh’s National Adviser, Chief Austine Ndigwe, who was the witness in the agreement.
The agreement which was fast forwarded to the date of Thursday the 20th day of March, 2014 confirms that Chukwuma Soludo disqualification was just to pave way for Obaino, as it noted that Obaino agrees that his emergence as the party candidate and ‘governor’ was solely the handwork of Umeh.
The criminal agreement which is meant to loot the state also reveals that all political offices, both executive and appointed which shall be carried out by Obaino shall be determined by Umeh and Ndigwe throughout the duration of his tenure. Another part of the agreement is that all members of APGA board of trustees shall be appointed by Umeh in consultation with Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu, without any interference from Obaino.

SAD : Surviving Lagos Plane crash air hostess,Queenette Owolabi's 10 toes & 5 fingers to be amputated
Unless a miracle happens, or the Federal Government urgently intervenes
to fly Mrs Queeneth Owolabi abroad for treatment, she would have her
toes and fingers amputated due to gangrene infection.
Mrs Owolabi is a surviving cabin crew on the ill-fated Associated Airlines plane that crashed in Lagos two weeks ago.
Efforts to reach him proved futile as his mobile phones remained switched off yesterday and it was also not possible to speak with the medical team at the hospital as movements in the victim’s ward was restricted by military personnel.
National President of Nigerian Airlines Cabin Crew Association, NACCA, Mr. Charles Onuoha, who confirmed the development, appealed to the Federal Government to urgently come to the rescue of the crash victim.According to him, Owolabi’s 10 toes and the five fingers of the left hand have been marked for amputation because of the infection that had set in.
He said:
Mrs Owolabi is a surviving cabin crew on the ill-fated Associated Airlines plane that crashed in Lagos two weeks ago.
But for her husband’s resistance, the amputation would have been done yesterday or today at Nigerian Air Force, NAF, base hospital in Ikeja, where she had been hospitalised since the crash.Vanguard gathered, yesterday, that the husband of the victim was making frantic efforts to reach the Federal Government for his wife to be flown abroad for treatment to stave off the amputation, especially as the government was said to be responsible for her treatment thus far.
Mrs. Owolabi survived the crash alongside six others, although two of the survivors later died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH.

He said:
“We are calling for referral for overseas treatment, a post-trauma stress assessment and de-briefing for Mrs Quinneth Owolabi, and her colleague, Miss Toyin Samson, currently on admission at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, Lagos.“We are appealing for government’s intervention because that is the only thing that can stop this amputation.”
